Laser Range Finders

Eagle Eye

Vision of the future is here…Eagle Eye is the target acquisition binocular solution for the digital battlefield. This innovative product combines a long-range laser rangefinder, observation binocular, GPS, digital compass, digital camera and digital voice recorder, integrated in a compact and lightweight package.

The class 1 eyesafe laser rangefinder is safe under all conditions, yet effectively achieves measuring ranges of up to 20km. Single-pulse laser technology increases probability of ranging to distant targets without the need for tripod stabilization. The rangefinder will detect and display up to three multiple targets, at any range, and provides for user adjustable minimum range gate.

The superb observation capability offered by the 7 x 42 binocular eliminates the need to carry in-service binoculars, thereby reducing the impact of any additional mass. The high-resolution data display is projected in the lower section of the field of view, thereby allowing un-obscured vision of target observation area. The aiming reticle is automatically illuminated in low-light operating conditions.

At the press of a button, Eagle Eye will acquire and display target range, bearing, elevation and GPS location. If required by the user, an image of the target and voice description may also be captured. Eagle Eye is equipped with a high-speed external interface port to enable effective transfer of target information to digital mapping system or mission command via radio transmission. The target image and voice description facilitates target verification and mission planning, thereby reducing the risk of collateral damage.

Eagle Eye features a fall-of-shot function, which provides fire correction data for artillery and mortar forward observer applications. The system is compatible with a wide range of external GPS systems including, PLGR I, PLG RI+96, PLGRII and Garmin.

Eagle Eye’s ergonomic design and rugged construction will withstand the harshest military environments. Its user-friendly two-button operation and menu guided display contributes to its ease of use.

Eagle Eye is at the forefront of target acquisition technology for the digital battlefield.

LH40C Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder

The LH40C is the latest product in Eloptro's range of compact, high performance laser rangefinders. The system is based on Eloptro's proven LH40 Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder and features an integrated digital magnetic compass.

Eyesafe laser technology is employed to achieve measuring ranges of up to 20 km, with a measuring resolution of 5 m. The integrated digital magnetic compass provides bearing and elevation data over tilt and bank ranges of up to ± 45°. Calibration of the compass is performed via a menu guided process and the magnetic declination is user adjustable. The LH40Cs "fall-of-shot" function facilitates fire correction by providing accurate fire correction data.

The LH40C may be integrated with an optional GPS system to obtain instant target location data. Two GPS options are currently available:

  • Rockwell Collins PLGR +96 GPS system with Target Locating Software.
This GPS system accepts range, bearing and elevation data from the
LH40C and automatically calculates target coordinates.
  • Garmin 12 GPS system with Intelligent Cable
The Intelligent Cable acts as an interface between the LH40C and the
Garmin 12 GPS. The target coordinates are recorded as waypoints and displayed graphically on the map page.

LH41C Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder

The LH41C is a derivative of the LH40C Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder. The LH41C is a Class 1 laser product, making it eyesafe under any conditions, even when directed at personnel using binoculars. The LH41C achieves long-range performance of up to 14 km and incorporates a digital magnetic compass to provide bearing and elevation data to the target. The "fall of shot" function facilitates fire correction.

As with the LH40C, the LH41C may be integrated with an optional GPS system to obtain instant target location.

LH40 Laser Rangefinder

The LH40 is compact, high-performance eyesafe laser rangefinder designed for use in handheld or mounted applications. Range measurement is achieved using single-pulse erbium-glass laser technology operating at an eyesafe wavelength of 1,54 µm.

The LH40 is equipped with an external communication connector, providing outputs of electronic ranging information for further processing or remote display, and inputs for remote operation of the LRF. A dovetail mount allows precise connection of the unit to rigid supports.

When mounted on a goniometer, range finding data can be combined with elevation and azimuth data, providing accurate fire control information.

Standard AA batteries are used to power the LH40. The rangefinder can also operate from any external source with a wide voltage range of 8 V to 30 V DC, including vehicle batteries.
